Julie and Craig’s New Year’s Eve wedding was cold but absolutely perfect. We started the day at an adorable little lake house called Edgewater Cottage. It had perfect indoor light, and provided a beautiful backdrop for outdoor portraits. I. Was. In. Heaven.
Once we were ready to go outside, we wrapped Julie in a warm blanket, had her stand ten feet from the back door of the cottage, and instructed each bridesmaid to run by her side for an individual portrait. I’m sure it was hilarious to watch, but keeping Julie warm in her gorgeous backless dress was our top priority. WORTH IT!
Shortly after we arrived at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, I photographed Julie and Craig sharing a private moment together before the ceremony. Without seeing each other, they exchanged gifts, letters, and some excited laughs. It was so special to witness their joy to be husband and wife. The rest of the day, Julie and Craig stayed just as excited, and just as happy as they were during that private moment together. They could not stop smiling, and neither could I. It might have been one of the coldest weddings I have ever photographed, but, like I said, it was still perfect.
